The goal of survey research is to gather information about the attitudes, opinions, beliefs, and behaviors of the targeted population through closed-ended questions (which result in quantitative data) and open-ended ones (which result in qualitative data) (Aldridge, 2001; Braun et al., 2021).
Online surveys are prevalent due to the ease with which they can be implemented and their low cost relative to other modes of collecting data (Jansen et al., 2007; Sue and Ritter, 2012).
